FAQ

Before using your device, read the How to Use guide and the contraindications below. If your question isn't answered here, email support — we respond to every message.

How often should I microneedle?

Depth determines cadence. Shallow sessions at 0.25–0.5 mm can be done weekly. Medium depth (0.5–1.0 mm) every two to three weeks. Deeper treatments (1.0–1.5 mm) every four to six weeks, which is the window the dermis needs to complete a full collagen remodeling phase. More frequent deep sessions interrupt the cycle and compound inflammation without adding benefit.

Which needle length should I start with?

If you've never used a microneedling device, start at 0.25 mm for one or two sessions to gauge how your skin responds. Progress to 0.5 mm for general textural and tone work. Move to 1.0 mm only once your technique is consistent, and only for indications that warrant dermal work — acne scarring, stretch marks, or scalp use for hair. Depths above 1.5 mm are not recommended for at-home use.

Will treatment hurt or cause bleeding?

At 0.25–0.5 mm, most users report a mild scratching sensation and no bleeding beyond pinpoint dots. At 1.0 mm and deeper, discomfort increases and light pinpoint bleeding is expected — it's the signal that you've reached the target tissue layer. A topical lidocaine 4–5% cream applied 20–30 minutes before treatment is standard practice for deeper sessions. Significant pain, frank bleeding, or redness persisting beyond 48 hours means depth or pressure should be reduced.

How do I clean and sterilize the device?

Cartridges are single-use. Do not attempt to sterilize and reuse a cartridge — the needles dull after one session and residual biologics cannot be reliably removed at home. Wipe the device body with 70% isopropyl alcohol before and after each use. Our cartridges install and release without any contact with the needle tips. Dispose of used cartridges in a sharps container.

When should I expect visible results?

Surface changes — smoother texture and the appearance of improved tone from stimulated barrier renewal — typically appear within two to four weeks. Collagen remodeling is slower. Meaningful improvement in scarring, pigmentation, or dermal thickness is generally assessed at 8–12 weeks and continues to accumulate through six months of consistent protocol. Photographic tracking under the same lighting and distance is the only reliable way to evaluate your own progress.

Can I apply serums after microneedling?

The post-treatment window offers increased transepidermal delivery, which is both the opportunity and the risk. Apply only products formulated for compromised skin: hyaluronic acid, peptide serums, growth-factor serums, or saline. Avoid retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, low-pH vitamin C, essential oils, and fragrance for at least 24 hours — these can provoke significant irritation when driven through micro-channels. Topical minoxidil following scalp microneedling has supporting evidence; confirm your specific formulation is suitable first.

Who should not use microneedling?

Contraindications include active acne flares in the treatment area, eczema or psoriasis at the site, active cold sores or herpes simplex, bacterial or fungal skin infection, a history of keloid scarring, uncontrolled diabetes, current anticoagulant therapy, pregnancy, and any skin cancer or undiagnosed lesion in the area. If you are on isotretinoin (Accutane) or have been within the previous six months, wait for clearance from your prescriber. When in doubt, consult a dermatologist before starting.

What is your return policy?

Unopened devices can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the product price. Opened devices and used cartridges cannot be returned for hygiene and safety reasons. If a device arrives damaged or fails within its warranty period, contact support and we'll replace it without requiring a return of the original. See our Shipping & Returns page for the full terms.
