Usage Instructions

A session takes 10 minutes: clean, dry skin, eye protection on, eyes closed, and the mask switches itself off after the time you set (10, 20 or 30 minutes). Read the safety page and the printed manual before your first session. Where this page and the manual differ, follow the manual.

Before your first session

  1. Check the box. It should contain: the face mask, the neck piece, the handheld controller with its built-in battery, two eye shields and the gift box. If anything is missing or damaged, contact us before using the mask.
  2. Charge it fully. A full charge takes 4–5 hours. Use the supplied cable.
  3. Read the safety page. If anything in the "check with a doctor first" list applies to you, do that before using the mask.
  4. Try the fit with the mask switched off. Adjust the strap so the mask sits close to the skin without pressing. It should stay in place when you lean back.

Each session, step by step

  1. Clean, dry skin. Wash your face and pat it dry. Remove makeup and sunscreen. Leave serums, oils and moisturiser until afterwards. Anything on the skin sits between the light and the skin, and leaves residue on the inside of the mask.
  2. Eye protection on, eyes closed. Put on the included eye protection. Close your eyes before you switch the mask on, and keep them closed until it has switched off.
  3. Put the mask on and choose a mode. The modes are red, near-infrared, blue, green, yellow, purple, cyan and white. If you are not sure which to use, start with red. The mode guide explains what each one is designed for.
  4. Sit or lie still for 10 minutes. Do not wear the mask while walking, cooking, driving or doing anything that needs your eyes. The mask switches off after the time you set (10, 20 or 30 minutes).
  5. Take it off, then your skincare. Apply your usual serum and moisturiser. In the morning, finish with sunscreen as usual.
  6. Wipe it and put it away. Wipe the inside with a soft cloth lightly dampened with water. Let it dry, then store it.

How often

Use it once a day, at the set session length. One session is what the mask is designed around. A longer session, or a second one straight after the first, is not a stronger one; it is simply outside what the device was designed for.

Regular use over weeks matters more than anything done in a single session. If you miss a few days, pick up the usual schedule. Do not double up to catch up. More detail in how often to use an LED mask.

What a session feels like

  • Mild warmth from the LEDs and from the mask resting on your skin is normal. The mask should not feel hot. If it does, stop and take it off.
  • A coloured glow through your eyelids. Eyelids let some light through, so you will see red or another colour with your eyes closed. This is why the eye protection is there as well.
  • Some LEDs may look dark. Near-infrared is invisible or nearly so. In a near-infrared mode, LEDs that look off or faintly red are expected. Check them with the mask facing away from you, never by looking into it.

Charging

  • Battery: 3000 mAh, built into the controller. Full charge: 4–5 hours. Power: Battery-powered handheld controller, no plug needed during a session.
  • Use the supplied cable. Charge on a hard, dry surface, not on a bed or sofa.
  • Do not wear the mask while it is charging.
  • If the mask or battery becomes hot, swollen or damaged, stop using it and contact us. Battery care in full is on the safety page.

Cleaning and storage

  • After every session, wipe the inside with a soft cloth lightly dampened with water, then let it dry fully before storing or charging it.
  • Do not submerge the mask, run it under a tap or use solvents. Check the manual before using any alcohol-based wipe on flexible silicone.
  • If more than one person uses the mask, clean it between users.
  • Store it dry, at room temperature, out of direct sunlight and out of reach of children.

If something isn't right

What you notice What to do
It won't switch on Charge it for 4–5 hours and try again. If it still won't switch on, contact us.
Some LEDs look dark Check whether the mode includes near-infrared. If a visible colour stays dark in its own mode, contact us.
It feels hot Stop and take it off. Do not use it again until we have looked at it with you.
Discomfort, eye strain, headache or irritated skin Stop. Do not resume until it has settled, and ask a doctor if it does not settle. Let us know.
It doesn't sit close to your face Adjust the strap with the mask switched off. A mask is a fixed shape; on some faces the edges sit a little further from the skin.
