How it compares
An at-home routine, not an appointment
Salon LED sessions and an at-home mask do different jobs. This is the honest version of how they differ.
| What matters | Folliqen mask | Salon LED sessions |
|---|---|---|
| Where | At home, whenever suits you. | At a clinic or salon, by appointment. |
| Time | 10 minutes, hands-free. | The session, plus travel and waiting. |
| Cost | One purchase. | Paid per session. |
| How often | On the schedule in the instructions. | As often as you can book. |
| Light | Red, near-infrared and blue at fixed wavelengths. | Larger professional panels, usually with more output. |
Professional devices are usually larger and more powerful. An at-home mask trades some of that for convenience and regular use.
The light
Three core wavelengths, each with one job
The mask has 8 modes. These three are the single wavelengths most at-home routines are built around; the rest are in the mode guide.
Read the full mode guideRed light620–630 nm
What it is
Visible red light, the wavelength most at-home LED masks are built around.
What it's for
The everyday mode. Part of a regular routine for skin that looks smoother and more even.
Near-infrared850 nm
What it is
Just past what the eye can see, so this mode can look faint or dark even while it is on.
What it's for
Usually run together with red in the same session as part of the core routine.
Blue light440–465 nm
What it is
Short-wavelength visible light, used in its own session rather than alongside red.
What it's for
For days when skin looks shiny or uneven, as part of a clarifying routine.
Design
Soft enough to forget, close enough to count
Light spreads out as it travels, so distance matters. A flexible silicone shell keeps the LEDs close to the skin across the forehead, cheeks and jaw instead of hovering above them.
It holds itself in place, so your hands stay free for the whole session.
How to use it
Three steps,one timer
-
Step 1
Start with clean, dry skin
Wash and dry your face. Leave serums, actives and makeup until after the session.
-
Step 2
Put it on and press start
Put on the eye protection, close your eyes, choose a mode, and let the 10-minute timer run.
-
Step 3
Finish your routine
Apply the rest of your skincare as usual. Wipe the inside of the mask and put it away.
How long is a session?
10 minutes. The mask switches itself off when the timer ends.
How often should I use it?
Follow the schedule in the instructions that come with the mask. Regular sessions matter more than long ones; a longer session is not a stronger one.
Is it safe for my eyes?
Wear the included eye protection and keep your eyes closed, because eyelids let some light through. Don't look straight into the LEDs. Read the safety page before your first session: some people should check with a doctor first.
Does it get hot?
It can feel gently warm. It should never feel hot. If it does, stop the session and take it off.
What if it isn't for me?
You have 30 days. See the refund policy for how returns work.
Where do you ship, and how long does it take?
We ship with tracking to the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and every EU country. Orders leave within 1–3 business days and usually arrive in 7–15 business days. Details are in the shipping policy.
Can I use it with my skincare?
Use it on clean, dry skin, then apply your skincare afterwards. If you use prescription products or anything that makes skin more sensitive to light, check with your doctor before starting.
Who shouldn't use it without asking a doctor first?
Anyone who is pregnant, has epilepsy or light sensitivity, takes medication that increases sensitivity to light, has a history of skin cancer, or has an active skin condition. It is not for children. The full list is on the safety page.
Why does near-infrared look dim?
Near-infrared sits just beyond visible light, so that mode can look faint or dark even when it is working. That's expected.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the inside with a soft cloth and a little water or an alcohol-free wipe after each session. Don't submerge it or rinse it under a tap.
